Program Details

This program is to ensure the safety and well-being of the youth and the community; decrease the number of youth coming into care and / or custody. This is a court ordered program that connects higher risk youth with a Youth Support Worker, who provides intensive support and supervision for the youth as set out by the Court System.

Program Goals:

  • To support ans facilitate the youth's participation in court mandated activities and program.
  • Addressing the youth's individual needs.
  • Facilitating rehabilitation and reintegration into the community.
  • Reducing the risk of re-offending.
  • Monitoring youth's compliance with the court conditions.
  • Assisting the youth to stay in their community and home rather than in residential or custodial placement.

Description

This is a Court ordered program that connects higher risk youth with a Youth Support Worker. Provides intensive support and supervision for the youth as set out by the Court System. This program supplements not replaces the Youth Probation Officers role.

Eligibility Criteria

Must be a youth 12-18 years of age. This program can only be accessed through a referral from the Minsitry of Children and Family Development (MCFD).
