"Earn while YOU Learn"

SKILLS LINK is an 20 week paid work experience program that combines classroom training with on the job experience for youth who have had difficulties connecting to the workforce on a regular basis.

The program assists youth in creating career opportunities and making a successful transition into the labour market

The Program includes:

• 6 Weeks of classroom training which includes career exploration, job search skills, job maintenance skills, life skills and basic computer skills.
• 14 Weeks of full-time work experience.
• Guest Speakers from the work force who talk about their industries and share ideas on the opportunities available.
• Participants receive one-to-one employment counselling.

Participants are paid a salary of $8.00 per hour based on a minimum of  30 hours per week thoughout the 20 week Program.

Are YOU?

• Between 15 and 30 years of age
• Not receiving Employment Insurance
• Not Attending School
• Someone who has a personal history that has created barriers to employment
• Legally entitled to work in Canada

This program is client-centered and focuses on the specific employment needs and career goals of the participants.
