Early Years Services

Family Resource Centres provide a place for Parents/Caregivers and children to interact in a warm, nurturing environment. We provide support and information to young families that enhance parenting skills and literacy awareness as well as information on parenting, child development and community networking. Some of the programs are also provided at local libraries, schools and churches.

The Parents And Children Together (P.A.C.T.) program is a preventative home visiting program for pregnant women living in Delta or Surrey. Family Support Workers visit cllients in their homes and offer holistic support based on individual family strengtrhs and needs. Expectant mothers are also connected to existing community services. The goal of this program is to decrease such factors as low birth weight babies, levels of isolation, and child abuse and neglect.

We offer a variety of social recreational and educational activities including rock climbing, ceramics, hockey, cooking, camps, literacy and leadership training. The after school drop-ins provide economical options for parents needing child care and for those children 6-12 needing more structure we offer our Kids World School Aged Child Care Program.

Counselling and Support Services

Counselling and Support Services provides a continuum of service from prevention to intensive support and counselling to Delta residents. Professional Counsellors work with families or one-to-one with individuals who may be experiencing difficulties such as personal issues, family conflict, family break down or difficult life transitions. The length of service may vary from short term solution focused to more intensive on-going support depending on the needs of the client(s).

Besides our family and individual counselling we offer counselling and support through our Sexual Abuse Intervention Program (SAIP) for children and youth who have been sexually abused or displaying symptoms of sexual abuse and their non-offending family members.

We also offer a number of groups and workshops that provide support. Please see our Groups and Workshops page for more details.
