Boys and Girls Club Community Services of Delta/Richmond is a community based multi-service organization that has been providing programs and services to children, youth and families for over 45 years.
Our organization offers a continuum of services from pre-natal through to adulthood. These services include early intervention/prevention programs as well as social/recreational activities and employment services. We have several sites that are located in North Delta, Ladner, Tsawwassen and Richmond.
Services at a Glance
Family Resource Centres: Family Resource Centres provide a place for Parents/Caregivers and children o-6 years of age to interact in a warm, nurturing environment. We provide support and programs to young families that enhances parenting skills and child development. We offer information on parenting, child development, community resources as well as information to increase literacy awareness. Some of the programs offered take place at local libraries, schools and churches.
Club Services: Club programs for children 6-12 years and teens 13-18 years focus on personal development and social interaction. All of our programs and services build individual and community assets. We offer a wide variety of social / recreational and educational activities. Some of the activities offered may include such things as rock climbing, ceramics, hockey, cooking, camps, literacy and leadership training. After school Drop-in programs provide an economical option for parents needing child care.
Counselling and Support Services Professional counselling oriented support for youth and families includes individual counselling, groups and informal support.
ParentConnect Provides prevention and early intervention services to pregnant women and families with children ages 0 to 6, within the existing continuum of services available in Surrey and Delta. Outcomes achieved by the program will be directly linked to existing research regarding long-term crime prevention outcomes. The program is outreach based where families are visited in their home with services being individualized, family centered, and strength-based.
Employment Services The Richmond and South Delta Employment Resource Centres provide assistance to individuals who are unemployed or underemployed (working less than 20 hours week).
Skills Link is a 24 week work experience program that combines classroom training with on the job experience for youth who have had difficulties connecting with the workforce on a regular basis.
